If you have been following this blog for any amount of time, then you know that the primary focus is to both inform and to assist aspiring minority law students. My favorite part is when I'm able to help someone else that was in my shoes, in even the smallest way. Donations have been coming in so we will be able to help even more students, and I am proud to announce that very shortly I will begin the process of applying for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status so that all donations can be tax deductible. I want to thank everyone that has either donated, shared, or subscribed to Melanated Law because every single person helps make a difference. Be sure to read below about our latest winner Andrew Parks, and look out for the next free raffle coming soon!
"My name is Andrew Parks, and I'm from Tacoma, Washington. I graduated from The University Of Providence with a degree in pre-law and legal studies. I have worked in the IP Law sector for four years and currently studying to take the LSAT. I'm looking to apply to the University of Washington and the University of Texas, to name a few. Pursuing law will allow me to build on the skill and experience I've acquired working in the legal field. Most of all, it will allow me to make a difference in my community while building a career I'm proud of."
